(The Sun) "ISIS thugs have beheaded 11 police officers and killed six others after seizing control of a city dubbed the migrants’ “gateway to Europe”’.
Fanatics stormed the ancient city of Sabratha in Libya overnight and quickly set about massacring local security officials.
The concern now is that ISIS could use the Mediterranean city — 190 miles from the Italian island of Lampedusa — as a base from which to flood Europe with terrorists disguised as refugees over the coming months.

ISIS has taken advantage of political chaos and a lack of authority to establish a presence in Libya, with fighters seizing control in Sirte and staging attacks in several other cities.

Sabratha’s fall only occurred when local militias left the city to attack ISIS hideouts nearby, leaving a massive security vacuum.

ISIS militants then stormed the city, massacring any remaining resistance.

Sabratha's mayor, Hussein al-Thwadi, said six members of the local brigades had been killed in clashes and 11 more were beheaded.

Last Friday, the United States carried out an air strike on a suspected ISIS training camp on the outskirts of Sabratha, killing nearly 50 people.

Serbia's government said two Serbian diplomats kidnapped in Libya in November also died in the attack.

It was the second US airstrike in three months against ISIS in Libya.

There are concerns that, with their power diminishing in Syria and Iraq, Libya could soon be the new frontline in the war against the terror group."
